“Working together with our girls to create impact and meaningful conversations about feeling good and getting active”
our girls.
Sophie Weenink-smith
Ecogirl, & youth advocate, Teens Taking Action leader - this gal is out to make a difference!
"“I am Sophie and I am 14 years old. I am really excited to be a Youth Representative for Kohine Maia, to work together to inspire other young women to get out there and try all the incredible opportunities we have available to us. If you would like to join us on any of our adventures I would love to support you and be a welcoming friend to you.
I believe there is a strong connection between trying new things and being outdoors to our happiness and health - together we can give everything a go and have so much fun!”

Leonie, Kate & Emma
Marlborough Girls College leaders - taking initiative to empower their peers to live health and active lives.
“We are from Marlborough Girls College and this year we haven been given the privilege to be the Sports Manutaki. Just before we went into [Covid-19 level 4] lockdown we started working with Kōhine Māia to help develop sport and wellbeing at our school. Unfortunately we went into lockdown but that didn’t stop us from helping the girls get resources!
We created a weekly planner to send out each week to the students while we are in isolation. We included workouts, recipes and fun challenges for everyone to complete. So far we have sent it out for two weeks and and have received positive feedback!”
